Auckland is your backyard: the city where you live, work or play. The thing is, our city's growing, so we have to plan now to determine how we can make the best use of land in the future.
This website paints a picture of how the Auckland isthmus could develop through area plans under the future planning framework. You'll learn how we want to deal with important issues facing Auckland, including:

- Developing high quality urban areas
- Retaining our unique character and identity.
Future planning framework is now proposing a precinct plan for Mt Albert
Following public submissions on ten area plans, further work has been done on preparing a more detailed look at four specific areas of the city to see how they could be developed for future growth. Called precinct plans, these are being made available for public feedback before being referred to the new Auckland Council to assist local planning and the preparation of a single district plan for the whole region.
The next precinct plan to be prepared will be the draft Mt Albert precinct plan.
